100 Tonson gallery is pleased to present "ATMOSFEAR : NEW PAINTINGS "
A continuation of a year long project which the artist Yuree Kensaku transformed the gallery space into her own alternate ATMOSFEAR universe . Following the success of the painting installation, “NEW PAINTINGS” echoing the focal themes relating to fear, tragic stories from the media and environmental crisis.
With the exhibition acted as a sequel to ATMOSFEAR, the viewer can clearly see the development of the artist’s process during the short period of time and how she has perfected some of materials and technique first initiated in her first exhibition as well as how the work change distinctly when working in the studio.
Yuree Kensaku is one of the leading Thai new wave talents whose works are exhibited and collected internationally in the past 10 years with works in the collection of renowned museums such as Mori Art Museum and Singapore Art Museum, and latest with her well received solo showcase at Art Basel Hong Kong 2015. Known for her lively colorful painting with characters influenced by wide range of sources frommythologies, popular culture, Japanese Manga, to folklores and fairy tales, combined with her witty wordplay, resulted into a visual narrative often with unexpectedly serious underlying message.
