For young artist’s pick of the year, 100 Tonson Gallery is pleased to feature a solo art exhibition by Pichaya Khunnawat --Raw/Rare or in Thai means Critical.

The artist conveys in raw and straightforward way, the extortion and complexity in people’s mind in dealing with the issue of money.  The works reflect the issues in our society, some have been exposed and some are happening concurrently.  It is critical that  we have to find ways to deal with this raw/rare or critical situation that our country is facing.

The young Thai artist, Pichaya Khunnawat has challenged critical thinking about the society since his first solo show in “Wanna Have … Wanna Be “that was part of Brand New Project 2003.  This exhibition, Raw/Rare continues to post question to the society, in this very critical time about the perception and value of money, through his paintings on paper and some 3-dimensional works which he has studied, observed and contributed with creativity.

Other young artists whom 100 Tonson Gallery has featured include Yuree Kensaku (solo show at Chulalongkorn University coming up in May, followed by solo show at Yokohama Art Museum) and Porntaweesak Rimsakul (now participating in an exhibition at Mori Art Museum and been selected to show on screens around Roppongi Hills in Tokyo).
