Porntaweesak Rimsakul
07 Sep 2006 - 29 Oct 2006100 Tonson Gallery is pleased to announce that fun exhibition has already started. “Porntaweesak ’s Exhibition”, a mixed media installation by young distinguished Thai artist “Porntaweesak Rimsakul”.
In this show Porntaweesak transforms the main hall of 100 Tonson Gallery to be an imagination –stimulating battle ground, inspired from his childhood imagination. It is extremely fun when one gets to interact with this installation.
Right when viewers step into the gallery corridor, the video projects pass one on to the wall, straight-forwardly states his motivation in reminiscence. That is playful and boyish mind that is always imbedded in the artist.
Porntaweesak has chosen World War II helmets to be made into a toy-like, control-Car, which allows the audience to participate. This also is a representative of military who was once protects people or in a commander role, but now being persuaded and controlled by commercial power of some fast grown parties so blatantly to the point where no one can ignore.
Proceeds from bullet (battery purchase) go to a charitable organization, Rangsit Baby Home.
The exhibition will be on view until October 29, 2006.
