Life and Work of Erwin Wurm
You are invited to a special art talk, “Life and Work of Erwin Wurm” by Erwin Wurm, the world well-known contemporary Austrian artist. Wurm is best recognized from the series of “One Minute Sculpture” which he has been working on since the late 1980s, in which he poses himself or his models in unexpected relationships with everyday objects, prompting the viewer to question the very definition of sculpture.
As the sculptures are fleeting and meant to be spontaneous and temporary, the images are only captured in photos or on film which shown on two dimension surface. Apart from “One Minute Sculpture”, some of his best known works include “Fat Car”, “Narrow House” etc. Erwin Wurm's works are a part of prestigious collections worldwide, including Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, Peggy Guggenheim Collection, The Walker Art Center, Museum Ludwig, Kunstmuseum St. Gallen, Musee d’Art Contemporain de Lyon, and the Centre Pompidou.
The event is co-organized by 100 Tonson Gallery and Plan D Creative Studio (PDCS) .
This informal talk will be held at multipurpose function room, Bangkok Art and Cultural Center, first floor
on Tuesday February 26, 2013 at 5 pm. Free of charge.

ขอเรียนเชิญท่านเข้าร่วมการบรรยายพิเศษ ชีวิตและผลงานของเออร์วิน เวอร์ม โดย เออร์วิน เวอร์ม ศิลปินชาวออสเตรีย ผู้มีชื่อเสียงเป็นที่รู้จักในวงการศิลปะร่วมสมัยระดับโลก ตั้งแต่ผลงานชุดประติมากรรมหนึ่งนาที ซึ่งเริ่มต้น สร้างสรรค์ครั้งแรกตั้งแต่ปลายปี 2523 โดยการจัดท่าทางของตัวศิลปิน หรือผู้เป็นแบบ ด้วยลักษณะความสัมพันธ์ที่คาดไม่ถึงกับวัสดุในชีวิตประจำวันไกล้ตัวทั่วๆไปซึ่งนับเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นการตั้งคำถามถึงนิยามความหมายอันแท้จริงของประติมากรรม และการท้าทายถึงความนิ่งและคงทนซึ่งถูกแทนที่ด้วยการบันทึกด้วยภาพถ่าย และวีดิโอ ที่อยู่บนมิติแบนราบนอกจากนี้ยังมีผลงานประติมากรรมที่โด่งดังอีกหลายชุด ไม่ว่าจะเป็น รถอ้วน บ้านผอม ฯลฯ ทั้งนี้ผลงานของเขามากมายถูกสะสมในคอลเลคชั่นสำคัญๆ ของหลายพิพิทธภัณฑ์ ทั่วโลก อาทิ Solomon R.
